KLIEMT Dissertation Prize awarded for the sixth year

Friederike Malorny is the name of this year’s winner of the KLIEMT.HR Lawyers Dissertation Prize. She received the award for her dissertation on the liability of trade unions to labour, management and third parties for damage resulting from unlawful strikes.

He went on to say that Friederike Malorny’s study, which examines current law, makes striking advances in knowledge, closes gaps in research and develops a consistent and coherent liability model for damages following an unlawful strike. The dissertation was supervised by Prof. Dr. Matthias Jacobs (Bucerius Law School).
The festive presentation of the prize, which carries an award of 5,000 euros, was followed by a talk by Dr. Mario Eylert (former presiding judge at the Federal Labour Court) ) on current decisions of the Federal Labour Court in Hamburg. Some 50 Bucerius Law School and Hamburg University students attended the ceremony.
KLIEMT.HR Lawyers was presenting the Dissertation Prize for the sixth time. It is awarded once a year to the best employment-law dissertation at Bucerius Law School. The selection committee members were Dr. Helmut Nause (President of Hamburg Higher Labour Court), Prof. Dr. Christian Rolfs (Cologne University) and Dr. Alexander Ulrich (partner at KLIEMT.HR Lawyers, Düsseldorf).
